Pe 21 februarie, Sigma anunţa două noi obiective third-party, Sigma 8-16mm f4-5.6 DC HSM şi Sigma 50-500mm f5-6.3 DG OS HSM, ce vor fi disponibile cu monturi pentru Sigma AF, Nikon AF, Canon AF, Pentax AF şi Sony AF. Cele două obiective au fost lansate zilele acestea pe piaţa din Marea Britanie, ceea ce înseamnă că în scurt timp vor fi disponibile şi pe la noi.
Spun că m-aş juca cu ele pentru că încă sunt convins că acest tip de obiective nu ar fi potrivite pentru ceea ce fac eu. În general, Sigma, Tamron sau Tokina, sau altele…, sunt obiective pentru un buget limitat, care oferă o calitate a imaginii acceptabilă, dar nu excelează în viteză. Nu poţi fotografia un eveniment cu un obiectiv Sigma şi să ai pretenţia să reuşeşti peste 80% din cadre(asta e părerea mea, bazată pe experienţă). Totuşi, distanţa focală oferită de acestea nu este oferită de nici un obiectiv de al meu, şi ca să acoper aşa ceva aş avea nevoie de cel puţin 3-4 obiective scurte. Cred că dacă aş avea aceste două obiective, în concediu sau la munte aş pleca doar cu ele. Sau în parc, sau oriunde aş vrea să fac doar fotografii şi timpul nu e o problemă.
Părţile bune:
- pe o cameră APS-C, care are un factor de crop de 1,6x(resprectiv 1,5x), aceste obiective ar avea o distanţă focală de 12,8-25,6mm şi 80-800mm ceea ce iţi oferă posibilitatea de a fotografia foarte wide sau cu un obiectiv de la distanţă focală medie până la super-tele
- 8-16 se laudă a fi ‘Cel mai wide obiectiv din lume’, dar NU este un fisheye, deci va distorsiona dar nu va deforma toată perspectiva
- cu 50-500 se poate fotografia de la o distanţă focală normală (50mm) până la supretele, ceea de oferă o diversitate de moduri de abordare şi o apropriere foarte mare a subiectului (10x)
- 50-500 are stabilizator de imagine incorporat şi motor de focalizare intern, care se laudă a fi destul de rapid
Părţile mai puţin bune:
- Dacă aceste obiective sunt ca şi celelalte din gama Sigma DG calitatea imaginii va fi relativ bună, dar nu se va putea compara cu un obiectiv ‘scump’
- 8-16 nu va putea fi folosit decât pe camere foto cu senzor APS-C
- viteza de focalizare va fi, probabil, destul de mare la lumină scăzută sau în lipsa contrastlor puternice în cadru
- diafragma variabilă

Ultra wide-angle zoom lens for digital SLR cameras
Sigma Imaging (UK) Ltd is pleased to announce that the suggested retail price of the new 8-16mm f4-5.6 DC HSM is £799.99. This new lens will be available at the end of April in Sigma, Canon and Nikon fit. Sony and Pentax will follow shortly.
This is the first ultra wide zoom lens with a minimum focal length of 8mm, designed specifically for APS-C size image sensors. This lens has an equivalent angle of view of a 12-24mm lens when used on digital cameras with an APS-C size image sensor. The wide-angle of view from 121.2 degrees* produces striking images with exaggerated perspective, enabling photographers to emphasize the subject.
Four FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass elements, which have the performance equal to fluorite glass, compensate for colour aberration. One hybrid aspherical lens and two glass mold elements give excellent correction for distortion and astigmatism. Incorporating an inner focusing system, the lens produces high definition images throughout the entire zoom range. The Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting while superior peripheral brightness ensures high contrast images throughout the entire zoom range.
This lens incorporates HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), ensuring quiet and high speed AF as well as full-time manual focus capability. It has a minimum focusing distance of 24cm throughout the entire zoom range which allows photographers to emphasise the subject by creating exaggerated perspectives. This lens has a compact construction with an overall length of 105.7mm and a maximum diameter of 75mm.
*The angle of view varies depending on which camera the lens is mounted on.
50-500mm f4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM High Magnification Ultra Telephoto Zoom Lens with a 10x zoom ratio
Sigma Imaging (UK) Ltd is pleased to announce that the suggested retail price of the new 50-500mm f4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM is £1399.99. This new lens is now available in the UK in Sigma, Canon and Nikon fittings. Pentax and Sony fit will follow shortly.
This is a 10x high zoom ratio ultra telephoto zoom lens incorporating Sigma’s original Optical Stabiliser function. This lens covers a wide range of focal lengths from 50mm to 500mm ultra telephoto. The OS (Optical Stabiliser) function offers the use of shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible. For Sony and Pentax mount, the built-in OS function of this lens can be used even if the camera body is equipped with an image sensor shift anti-shake system. As compensation for camera shake is visible in the view finder, the photographer can easily check for accurate focus and ensure there is no subject movement.
Four SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements provide excellent correction of colour aberration. The Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghost and ensures high image quality throughout the entire zoom range. This lens has a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.1 (at the focal length of 200mm) making it ideal for close-up photography.
This lens incorporates HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), ensuring quiet and high speed AF as well as full-time manual focus capability. The addition of the optional 1.4x EX DG or 2x EX DG APO Tele Converters produce a 70-700mm F6.3-8 or a 100-1000mm F9-12.6 MF zoom lens respectively. This lens is equipped with a Petal-type hood to block out extraneous light. The filter size of this lens is φ95mm and the lens is supplied with a step down ring enabling digital cameras with an APS-C size image sensor to use an φ86mm filter.
